井戸に落ちたロバの話 [インターネット]
Facebookの機能で「Share」（シェア）というのがあり、自分の気に入った写真、文章、HPなどがあれば、自分のページに表示してさらに多くの人に広めることができます。
筆者はあまり使っていませんが、先日、シンガポールの元同僚が、この話を「シェア」していました。
内容は、とてもアバウトに訳すると、こんな感じです。

「ある農夫のロバが、枯れ井戸に落っこちた。ロバが哀れな声で鳴き続ける間、農夫はどうしたら良いか考えをめぐらせた。結論はこうだ。ロバはもうかなりの歳で、この井戸はいずれ埋めなければならない井戸だ。ロバを引っ張り上げることに、意味はない。
農夫は近所の人々全員を呼び集め、手伝いを頼んだ。人々はショベルを手に取り、土を井戸に放り込み始めた。初めの頃は、ロバは何が起こっているのか気付いているようで、ひどく鳴いていた。ところがその後 …皆が皆驚いたが… ロバは静かになった。
その後、何杯か土を放り込んでから、農夫は井戸の中を覗いてみた。すると、驚愕の光景がそこにあった。ショベルで落とされた土がロバの背中に当たる度に、ロバは体を震わせて土を落とし、踏み固めて登っていたのである。
農夫の隣人達がショベルで土をかける度に、ロバは土を振り落としてまた登る。そのうちに、ロバはついに井戸の縁にまで達し、嬉しそうに地面に駆け降りたのだった！
教訓：
人生はあなたの上から土を落としてくる。土の種類は様々だ。井戸から脱出するためには、土を振りはらい、踏み固めて登るのだ。全てのトラブルは、踏み台であると考えよう。休まず、あきらめなければ、どんなに深い井戸からでも脱出できる！ 振りはらって登るのだ。
幸せになるための5つのルールを覚えておこう。
1. あなたの心を、憎しみから解放してあげよう。敵を許すのだ。
2. あなたの心を、不安から解放してあげよう。不安な事の大半は、実際には起こりはしない。
3. シンプルに生きよう。そして、あなたが持っているものに感謝しよう。
4. 自分からいくらでも与えよう。
5. 人々に期待を寄せるのを控えめにしよう。その代わり、神様にもっと期待しよう。
あなたには選択肢がふたつあります。
笑顔でこのページを閉じるか、それともこの訓話を誰か他の人とシェアするかです。
私たち全ての者に、神の恵みがありますように。

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less from people but more from God.

ええ、さすがインド！ ですよホントに。
層が厚いというか、引き出しが多いというか、とてつもないリソースが眠っている片鱗を垣間みました。ところで、Forgiveについてはガンディーも言っておられましたね。
